BIOGRAPHYTom is a drummer and educator based in Leeds, UK. He has been working as a professional musician since 2013, and has a 1st class honours and a Masters in Jazz Performance from Leeds Conservatoire, where he was awarded the John Sheerer prize for Drum Kit. 


Tom has performed extensively across the UK, Europe and Asia with various acts including Renegade Brass Band, Portmanteau, Back Chat Brass and many various jazz ensembles. Notable performances include Black Sea Jazz festival (Georgia), Stuttgart Jazz festival, Dubai Jazz Festival Java Jazz (Indonesia), Jazz Jantar (Poland), Blue Balls festival (Switzerland), Cork Jazz Festival, Manchester Jazz Festival, Glastonbury, Soundwave (Croatia) and many more. He has supported artists including Busta Rhymes, Duran Duran and Jamie Cullum.


As well as performing, Tom is an experienced session drummer, and has recorded various EP's and albums including Renegade Brass Band's album 'Totems' in 2017, and 'The Abbey Road Session', recorded at the prestigious London studio in 2018. Tom has been played on BBC2, BBC6 for a the Craig Charles Funk and Soul NYE Live broadcast 2019, and BBC Jazz at the Proms, recorded live at Royal Albert Hall Elgar Rooms with the Robin Porter Quartet. Tom’s drumming has featured on adverts for ‘Yorkshire Tea’, ‘Lipton Tea’ and ‘My Builder’, and he is regularly used for advert sessions for WMP.


As well as performing, Tom is heavily involved in music education, and alongside teaching drum lessons he has delivered hundreds of workshops, interactive concerts and long-term music projects in a wide variety of settings. In 2019 Tom was invited back to Leeds Conservatoire to run higher education lectures and workshops educating others on working with children in music. 


In 2020 Tom launched his own music studio where he records remote sessions and offers 1-1 and online drum lessons
