BIOGRAPHY : Donna Peters is a passionate live player and dedicated performer who is receiving enthusiastic reviews from experienced musicians and venues throughout the UK. Since turning professional in 2003 Donna has already performed over 2000 gigs and has played alongside many successful bands including Fish (ex-Marillion), Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes and the Billy Walton Band, as well as depping for a variety of different musicians by request. She also became a Guinness World Record Holder in 2012 for playing in the worlds largest full drum kit ensemble along with 797 other drummers.

Donna is also the resident session drummer for The Mayfair Studio in Surrey and has been since 2006 where she continues to record drum tracks for singer songwriters as well as taking part in rehearsals and live recording sessions with various artists, as well as teaching drums. Online Session Drumming is a big part of Donna’ s work now too.

 

Since starting to teach herself to play at the age of 11, Donna’s professional manner has enabled her to work her way through a variety of function and cover bands alongside continuing her school/college studies during which she completed 2 part-time courses in Intermediate Drumming at the commended Academy of Contemporary Music, Surrey in 1995 where she had the privilege of studying with drumming greats such as Jim Chapin, Dom Famularo, Laurence Hall and Mark Richardson.

 

In 2004 Donna was accepted onto the Degree course in Contemporary Popular Music at the Academy of Contemporary Music, where she again had the pleasure to study and work with some renown drummers including Pete Riley, Mike Sturgis, Bill Bruford, and Thomas Lang to name but a few. After 2 years of studying and gigging, Donna graduated with a BA (Hons) Degree. She now enjoys a busy and diverse life as a freelance drummer working all over the country specialising in rock and pop, deps and sessions and touring.
